The "Lady Boss" was intercepted by forces of the Spanish Tax Agency Agencia Tributaria on Aug 8, 2017, East of the Gibraltar Strait in the Alboran sea. The vessel was suspected in possible drug trafficking after it was spotted, several days earlier, by the Tax Agency surveillance plane in the Strait of Gibraltar, being known for being used by traffickers for drugs loading. The "Lady Boss" was en route from Bejaia to Alexandria, but instead sailed towards the Strait of Gibraltar. The Customs and Tax Agency teams intercepted the vessel and took it to Almeira, Spain, where she it investigated. 600 bales of hashish, totaling some 18 tons, were found. The vessel and the 13 crew members, including 11 Ukrainians and two Bulgarians, were put under arrest.
