KUWAIT's United Arab Shipping Co (UASC) has received the Al Mashrab, seventh of 11 Korean-built 14,993-TEUers, reports Alphaliner.
These ships are called "A15" types by their builders Hyundai Heavy Industries at Ulsan and Hyundai Samho Heavy Industries at Mokbo.
The Al Mashrab, follows the Al Dhail, delivered in January. She is to join this week the Asia-Med service jointly offered by CMA CGM, CSCL (Cosco) and UASC within the Ocean Three (O3) alliance.
Yang Ming, Hanjin, "K" Line, Evergreen, PIL and Hamburg Sud take slots on this service within the frame of separate agreements.
The A15 class vessels present an Loa of 368 metres, a moulded breadth of 51 metres and are fitted with 1,000 reefer plugs.
They can sail at a commercial speed of 22 knots powered by a MANB& W engine (model S90ME-C10 in 9 cylinder version) developing 54,900 kW at MCR.
