The 'Dorneda' capsized and sank on July 11, 2018, in pos. 45 08S 060 11 W in the South Atlantic, about 200 miles off the Argentine coast. 25 crew members were located later in life rafts and a rescue boat, and rescued by Argentine fishing boats. One man was reported dead and one missing. Most of the crew were Spanish nationals, but there were also Moroccans, Peruvians and Indonesians among them. The trawler capsized during trawl upheaving, the trawl went abeam of ship’s hull when the rudder was hard a board, heavy seas were also contributing to the loss of stability.
