On June 28, 2011, the Kanyakumari district administration
released seven crew members of the "Mirach" which sank off the coast of
Kanyakumari two months ago.
About 15 out of 22 sailors of the "Mirach", who were detained by the Kanyakumari district administration, have got permission to go back to their native countries on May 21, 2011.
About 22 foreign nationals from Turkey, Georgia and Azarbaijan, who
were working in merchant ship MV Mirach that sunk off the coast of
Kanyakumari,
are in detention in Nagercoil.
Steelguru reports that Pakistan Steel Mills would book no loss after the ship Mirach carrying 25,842 tonnes of iron ore for the mills ran aground off Indian waters.
Bulk carrier Mirach ran on the rocks in Anjugraman area, southern tip of India, on April 1 2011. It is believed vessel struck rocks in severe weather in shallow waters close to coastline.

Tug Fairmount Sherpa has safely delivered rig GSF Arctic I in Las Palmas. The rig has been towed from offshore Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, to Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, Spain. GSF Arctic I is a semi-submersible drilling rig for deepwater operations, owned by Houston based Transocean.
