Scots dockers to strike in protest of changed working conditions
The union Unite has advised that dockers at Grangemouth's container terminal near Edinburgh have voted to strike in protest of a change of working conditions at Forth Ports that comes into effect April 3.
If the strike goes ahead this week, there will be no shipside activity within the port's container terminal, initially for a period of up to two weeks, reports GAC Hot Port News.
Landside operations will be maintained to allow containers currently in the terminal to be picked up.
General cargo, liquid cargo and warehousing will not be affected.
