CHIEF executive officer of Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) Musharraf Rasool Cyan has recommended that the cargo department strengthen its performance by giving the carrier's cargo agents absolute transparency at more facilities.
The CEO called for special incentive schemes based upon the performance of cargo agents and for transparency to prevail at all levels, reported Karachi's Pakistan Observer.
He made these comments at a dinner and awards ceremony held in Lahore to honour of the air cargo agents, where the best performing cargo agents were presented with cash awards and shields.
Speaking at the ceremony, cargo general manager Mirza Samiullah Baig said that the revenue generated by PIA Cargo constitutes 10 per cent of the airline revenue.
He said that on the instructions of Musharraf Rasool Cyan, PIA now provides better facilitation to cargo agents with PIA Cargo support, offices open 24 hours at airports in Pakistan and the introduction of special incentive packages, which include cash incentives on a yearly basis to best performing cargo agents.
