Pilotage
Pilots, with their knowledge and expe-
rience, play an important role in provid-
ing maritime safety at high risk sea areas.
DEKAŞ, the second largest pilotage
organization of Turkey, built a pilotage
station in Yarımca, a province close to
Istanbul, that such essential profession-
als deserve.
Dekas, in consortium with another
company, Medmarine, provides pilot-
age services at Izmit Bay. DEKAŞ is
responsible from the pilotage part of the
services given.
The most modern pilotage station that
DEKAS built at Yarica is counting days
for opening. Before opening officially,
here we would like to introduce you
this station, which we consider to be the
world’s most modern station.
There are basically two use of a pilot
station. First, the “organization and con-
duct of the pilotage services”, and the
latter’s hosting pilots on 24-hour basis, to
meet the vital needs of all kinds.
New Yarımca pilotage station was
built to fulfill the main task of the two.
But next to them, the building is built
and equipped by paying attention to the
characteristics of intelligent and green
building standards, providing facilities
for education, social activities and other
events, such as meetings.
