NOAA's largest oceanographic research vessel returned home to Charleston Monday after an impressive 1,347-day trip that involved research near Alaska, Antarctica, off the West Coast and of course, in the Atlantic Ocean. Over the course of the multi-year voyage, the ship traveled nearly 130,000 miles. About 60 people were on the ship welcomed home with a special ceremony Monday.
