FRANCE's CMA CGM group has launched a new feeder dedicated to serving Mozambique ports in Southern Africa, dubbed the Rhino Express.
A company statement said the new feeder reinforces the group's service to Mozambique through an extended coverage of five ports in Mozambique, including two new ports, Quelimane and Pemba.
"The development of cabotage in Mozambique brings a better transit time from India, Middle East, Europe and to South America east coast to Maputo and Beira, and direct connections between Mozambique and Durban," said a company statement.
This feeder comes in addition to CMA CGM Mozex and Mascareignes Lines that already call at Mozambique.
The port rotation for the Rhino Express is: Durban, Maputo, Beira, Quelimane, Nacala, Pemba, Maputo and back to Durban.
Senior vice president African Lines CMA CGM, Mathieu Friedberg, explains: "This new service allows providing a faster and reliable connection for all cargo from Europe, the Mediterranean, India, Middle East Gulf and South America, while opening the opportunity to develop cabotage in Mozambique."
