Most of Hong Kong's volume is from the container terminals at Kwai Tsing that handled 1.14 million boxes in February, an increase of 16.8 per cent over the same month last year. Export containers totalled 518,000 TEU, a year-on-year increase of 9.4 per cent. Imports totalled 618,000 TEU, 23.8 per cent higher than in February 2016.
The port of Singapore handled 2.3 million TEU last month, while the world's busiest port, Shanghai, handled 2.65 million container units.
