GLOBAL Logistics System (HK) has entered into a partnership with Electronic Freight Data Interchange (EFDI) to distribute and support its EzyCargo cargo community platform in India.
Under the GLS deal, EFDI will provide sales and marketing functions to promote subscriptions to EzyCargo, an integrated, digital platform for freight forwarders and airlines to exchange cargo data.
EzyCargo is a cloud-based application that enables online bookings, electronic air waybill data exchange, and the track and trace of consignments via the Internet. There are currently 1,000 EzyCargo subscribers in India, reported London's Air Cargo News.
GLS Hong Kong chief executive Tony Sham said: 'Forwarders can enjoy the benefits of our single gateway for data exchanges with multiple carriers. New features will also be added to support forwarder needs and local requirements.'
EFDI provides connectivity to 79 international carriers to the Indian Customs EDI System (ICES) and the US Automated Customs Environment (ACE).
EFDI managing director Madhav Kulshreshtha said: 'We recognise the vast potential for electronic messaging and digitisation that a platform such as EzyCargo offers.'
GLS Hong Kong offers a range of IT solutions relating to digital cargo operations through a portfolio of applications and tools designed to connect forwarders, airlines, terminals, customs and postal administrations.
