Ferry "Avşa Adası"  disabled in Dardanelles


The "Avsa Adasi" suffered engine failure en route from Eceabat to Canakkale in the Dardanelles in the evening of Apr 3, 2016. The disabled vessel started to drift towards shore, and the master asked for assistance. A tug was sent, and the crew meanwhile dropped an anchor. After they managed to fix one of the engines, they heaved up anchor and reached Çanakkale under own power.
