EMIRATES SkyCargo has expanded its product portfolio with the launch of Emirates Pets - a two-level transport service for domestic pets, reports London's Air Cargo News.
The airline will offer airport-to-airport transport for pets across the carrier's network of over 160 destinations with its Emirates Pets product.
All paperwork and clearances needed for the transport of the animal from one country to another will be the responsibility of the owner.
In the last two years, Emirates has flown 11,000 domestic pets - mostly dogs and cats on its flights, 60 per cent of which either started or ended journeys in the UAE. Some 3,000 pets have travelled to the UK over the same time period with the air cargo carrier.
Emirates has increased the products it offers as it targets higher grossing sectors by developing specialist services in recent years.
Two years ago, it launched SkyWheels for moving luxury and premium automobiles while in 2017 it created SkyFresh for transporting fresh produce. It now also has a pharma product.
