The Court of Appeals of Puerto Montt on Aug 17 ordered not to unload the 100 tons salmon aboard the 'Seikongen' nor dispose of the fuel stored inside the ship, for not having the permits of the competent authorities. The plans had generated several protests from local inhabitants. The First Chamber of the Court of Appeals - made up of Minister Jaime Vicente Meza, Judge Mirta Zurita and lawyer Pedro Campos - accepted the requests by the Municipality of Puerto Montt and Calbuco, respectively, allowing only the action of specialized personnel for cargo verification. The 'Seikongen' will remain in Puerto Montt waiting for decisions regarding a safe area for eliminating the waste. Spanish report with photo: https://www.cooperativa.c...
