THAI Airways subsidiary, THAI Smile Airways, has appointed CITS (Beijing) Air Travel Service Co as its general sales agent (GSA) in China to extend its presence in the country and position China as a vital point of sale for its regional network.
THAI Smile Airways acting chief executive officer Chatchai Panyoo said: This appointment is aimed at handling the airline's sales development, bookings and ticketing services within China as well as conduct direct marketing and service support to travel agents in China.'
Based at Suvarnabhumi International Airport, THAI Smile Airways has a fleet of 20 narrow-body aircraft that fly to 10 domestic destinations: Chiang Mai, Phuket, Khon Kaen, Chiang Rai, Hat-Yai, Ubolratchathani, Udonthani, Suratthani, Narathiwas and Krabi with one interline flight between Chiang Mai and Phuket.
The carrier also operates 18 international flights to Yangon, Mandalay, Siem Reap, Phnom Penh, Vientiane, Luangprabang, Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Jaipur, Lucknow, Gaya, Varanasi, Mumbai, Zhengzhou, Chongqing, Changsha, Guangzhou and Kaohsiung.
It plans to increase the frequency of domestic flights and launch new international routes.
