In the storm Xavier the moorings of the "Splendid Ace" at the New Ems Pier in Emden broke in the foremidday of Oct 5, 2017, and the ship drifted away from its berth. The tugs "Finn" (MMSI: 211215550), "Friedrich Wessels" (IMO: 7525205), "Stier" (IMO: 8912209) and "Waterstroom" (IMO: 9428047) rushed to assist and get the vehicles carrier which was adrift perpendicular to the fairway of the Ems back under control.
