Fire off Canakkale
On Feb 17, 2013 at 08:25 a.m. the "Boca" caught fire off Canakkale. The crew of 14 was evacuated. By 1 p.m. the fire was brought under control, but firefighting work went on. According to Turkish Maritime News Portal www.denizhaber.com; The tugboats of Turkish Coastal Safety Administration (DGCS) Kurtarma-9 and Sonduren -7 extinguished the fire while "Kiyiemniyeeti 7" and "Hizli Tahlisiye 6" attended to evacuate crew. The "Boca" was bound from Varna to Psacla with a cargo of 2798 tons wheat when the fire broke out.
