On 22 May 2012 LNG tanker Grand Aniva replenished fuel supplies in the Russian port of Nakhodka and became the first gas carrier to perform bunkering operation in Russia. Previously only oil tankers of Sovcomflot entered this port.

Gas tankers working for the Sakhalin-2 project usually took the bunker in the ports of the Asia-Pacific Region due to stringent requirements to the quality of fuel. Now it is possible to replenish supplies of high quality fuel with low content of sulfur and harmful substances in the Russian port following the signing of direct contracts between Sakhalin Energy and the Russian company Rosneft.

The first bunkering of Grand Aniva was completed successfully as a result of well-coordinated and professional work of the crew headed by Capain Mikhail Subbotin, and of the crew of a the bunkering vessel Tsezar.

LNG tanker Grand Aniva (145,000 cubic m), owned by SCF, is operating to provide LNG transportation in the Asia-Pacific Region for the Sakhalin-2 project. The ship was specially designed for working year-round in the Sakhalin basin in low temperatures.
