GLOBAL ocean carrier Evergreen Line prevailed out of a field of virtually every major ocean carrier in Asian trades to receive the award for being the outstanding liner owner-operator at the annual Seatrade Asia Awards held recently in Singapore.
Adam Lee, president of Evergreen Marine (Singapore) who represented Evergreen Line, received the award at the gala ceremony event attended by more than 500 maritime executives and industry leaders.
"For more than 40 years, Evergreen Line has endeavoured to provide ocean services that make our customers competitive in the world marketplace," said Mr Lee. "As Asia is the most dynamic shipping market with high growth potential and strong competition, this award is a good recognition of the service we bring to our customers. We will continue the efforts for service improvement based on the development of market trend and customer demand."
The rating categories of liner owner-operator award include service innovation, environmental protection and other criteria. In the aspect of service innovation, Evergreen Line launched "ShipmentLink Mobile," an application of its e-commerce system to handheld devices and is available via iPhone, iPad, iPod touch and mobile devices using Android operating system. The service enables customers to search sailing schedules and track the movements of their shipments anywhere on the globe.
In the category of environmental protection, Evergreen Line was said to have made tremendous efforts in its industry-leading commitment to sustainability.
