UK: Cosalt Offshore Gets Safety Recognition

Cosalt Offshore, a provider of lifting, tooling and maritime services to the oil and gas industry, has been recognised by the British Safety Council for its dedication to improving health and safety in the workplace.

Cosalt Offshore, a provider of lifting, tooling and maritime services to the oil and gas industry, has been recognised by the British Safety Council for its dedication to improving health and safety in the workplace.

Cosalt Offshore attained a merit level award after receiving a near perfect 59 points out of 60 during the stringent marking and evaluation process carried out by the council for the International Safety Award.

Rod Buchan, chief executive of Cosalt Offshore, said: “Receiving this award is a real honor, especially as we improved our performance and received such an impressive score. We are all very proud to have been given such recognition.

“Excellent QHSE management is of the utmost importance to the company – it is a continuous process and we are always striving to improve on the high standards we set ourselves.”

British Safety Council chief executive Alex Botha said: “This achievement clearly demonstrates a strong commitment by Cosalt Offshore to maintain the health, safety and well-being of your employees through good health and safety management.’’

Representatives of Cosalt Offshore will attend the International Safety Awards presentation banquet in London in May to accept the award.

The company also recently underwent a First Point Assessment Limited (FPAL) Verify audit and achieved excellent status in all the three categories of health and safety, environment and competence and training.

Cosalt Offshore holds the internationally-recognised OHSAS 18001 for its operations in Aberdeen, given to companies who take stringent steps to protect their workforce and actively promote health & safety in the workplace.

The company also has ISO 9001 and ISO 14001 standards testifying to its strong environmental performance.

Cosalt Offshore has 240 personnel based in Aberdeen and additional operations in Norway. The company has a team of multi-skilled engineers in a pan-North Sea network dedicated to serving the needs of its clients.
