RORO Exhibition and Conference Takes Place on May in Sweden!

This May, industry professionals from more than 50 countries are set to gather at the Svenska Massan in Gothenburg for RORO – Europe’s only dedicated ‘roll on/roll off’ event – where the future of in the industry will be under the spotlight.



This May, industry professionals from more than 50 countries are set to gather at the Svenska Massan in Gothenburg for RORO – Europe’s only dedicated ‘roll on/roll off’ event – where the future of in the industry will be under the spotlight.

This year, for the first time ever, the conference is free-to-attend and organisers have announced a host of new features including product launches, product seminars and keynotes from industry leaders, which will make the 2012 show the most extensive RORO exhibition and conference in history.

From 22 – 24 May, car manufacturers, shippers, equipment manufacturers, port and terminal operators and shipping lines from across Europe will gather to discuss and discover the latest industry solutions. While the new conference sessions will focus on the ro-ro sector’s most pertinent topics, such as emissions challenges and the impact of the industry on the environment high on the agenda.

In keeping with this theme, the Port of Gothenburg has announced that it will promote its new environmental solutions to thousands of industry professionals from across the continent at RORO.

Ann-Sofie Forss, Chartering/Sales and Purchase Manager at Stena RORO, added: â€œThe 2012 event has our full support by being the executive sponsor for the conference and we look forward to welcoming all visitors to Gothenburg in May. RORO will provide fantastic opportunities to do business, whilst learning about the trends which will impact the shape of the industry over the coming years.”

Magnus KĂ„restedt, CEO of the Port of Gothenburg, commented: â€œThe Port of Gothenburg is delighted and extremely proud to be the host port for RORO. We welcome all our friends in the industry to Gothenburg in May for what we hope will be an intensive few days, marked by beautiful weather. Our current investment in innovative, sustainable solutions demonstrates that we are truly a ro-ro port of the future. The event is an excellent opportunity for us at the Port of Gothenburg to reach out to our colleagues in the industry, making contacts both old and new.”

Sophie Ahmed, Event Director at RORO, concluded: â€œWe are delighted that the Port of Gothenburg will be showcasing its new environmental initiatives at RORO and look forward to this being a catalyst for debate and discussion amongst visitors. There is plenty of scope for innovation and originality in the industry and these are the exact issues and topics we will be focusing on at RORO this year.
