Australia: New Incat Crowther’s Catamaran Ferry Launched

The Cahaya Baru, a 20m Catamaran Ferry that will operate in the Cocos Keeling Islands was successfully launched. Another product of the partnership between Richardson Devine Marine and Incat Crowther, the vessel was commissioned by the Commonwealth Government of Australia. The vessel is flagged by the Australian Maritime Safety Authority (AMSA).

The Emergency Deputy Commissioner for the sinking of the Costa Concordia, Franco Gabrielli, Costa Cruises, and the TITAN Salvage / Micoperi consortium – the team recently contracted for the salvage work – presented the approved plans for removing the wrecked ship Costa Concordia. The salvage work will begin in a few days and is estimated to take about 12 months.
