Spanish patrol plane found an oil slick of 0.7 km area 16 nm off Cabo La Nao, Valencia, Mediterranean sea, on April 25 2011. m/v Burgas 3 was recognized as a source of spill, vessel was detained in Tarragona upon arrival, and on April 28

Master and shipowner were notified of a deposit of 300,000 euro, required by authorities for the release of the vessel as a precautionary measure, if vessel will be found guilty of pollution. Also, shipowner is to cover operational expenses in a sum of 3,692 euro.
