Bulgarian vessel is to be bailed for 300,000 euro, Spain

General cargo Burgas 3 IMO 8518077, dwt 8875, built 1987, flag Bulgaria, manager Seaborne Trade Burgas.

Spanish patrol plane found an oil slick of 0.7 km area 16 nm off Cabo La Nao, Valencia, Mediterranean sea, on April 25 2011. m/v Burgas 3 was recognized as a source of spill, vessel was detained in Tarragona upon arrival, and on April 28

Master and shipowner were notified of a deposit of 300,000 euro, required by authorities for the release of the vessel as a precautionary measure, if vessel will be found guilty of pollution. Also, shipowner is to cover operational expenses in a sum of 3,692 euro.
