MEMBER lines of the Asia Australia Discussion Agreement (AADA) will increase rates US$300 per TEU and US$600 per FEU for cargo from Hong Kong and mainland China to all points in Australia from April 1.
The AADA said the step was taken to maintain a high standard of service to customers and is considered part of the implementation of a "rate restoration programme".
"This increase will apply in full on top of existing ongoing market rates and will be subject to accessorial surcharges applicable at the time of shipment," said the AADA statement.
AADA members include ANL Singapore, APL, CSCL (HK), Cosco Evergreen, Hamburg Sud, Hanjin, Hapag-Lloyd, Hyundai Merchant Marine, "K" Line, MSC, MOL, NYK Line, OOCL, PIL, Sinotrans Container Lines, TS Line and Yang Ming.
