Filipino seamen warned not to bring arms into Hong Kong
FILIPINO seamen have been warned not to bring weapons into Hong Kong ports, including stun guns, tear gas, bullets, extendible batons and knuckle dusters.
The Philippine Consulate issued the reminder on the strict prohibition of such arms after receiving a request from the Hong Kong Police Airport District, reported GAC Hot Port News.
As of 2014, 81 Filipino have been convicted of possession of arms without licence in Hong Kong.
Under Hong Kong's Firearms and Ammunition Ordinance, the offence is punishable by a fine of HK$100,000 (US$12,894) and/or a maximum sentence of 14 years.
