TAIWAN's Evergreen Line joins Cheng Lie Navigation (CNC) to launch the new China-Philippines Service (CPH) with a first sailing from Shanghai on Thursday December 11.
Two 1,000-TEU ships will be deployed on the new weekly service, operated by each of the partner companies.
The CPH will rotate through Shanghai, Ningbo, Xiamen, Shenzhen-Shekou, Manila (South Harbour) and back to Shanghai.
The new service is an addition to the four feeder loops, which Evergreen offers serving the Philippines, thus providing coverage of all major ports in the Philippines.
This includes Manila (both north and south harbours), Cebu, Davao and General Santos. All services connect to Evergreen's global network via either Kaohsiung and/or Hong Kong.
China's trade with Philippines grew 17.1 per cent, outstripping the 8.9 per cent year-on-year growth enjoyed by ASEAN in the first 10 months of 2014, according to statistics from China's General Administration of Customs.
