SITC has commenced a new weekly container shipping service that for the first time connects East Malaysian ports of Kota Kinabalu and Bintulu to Vietnam via the Philippines.
The port rotation for this East Malaysia, Philippines and Vietnam (MPV) service is Ho Chi Minh City (Cat Lai), Batangas, Kota Kinabalu, Bintulu and back to Ho Chi Minh City.
At Ho Chi Minh City transshipment services are offered to connect with the carrier's other services to North Asia, reported Alphaliner.
The MPV service turns in two weeks and is operated by two chartered 700-TEU vessels.
As a result of the launch of the MPV, the Bintulu call on SITC's Korea-China-Vietnam-Indonesia (CKV/PTK) service has been removed.
The CKV/PTK service now calls at Incheon, Pyongtaek, Qingdao, Pyongtaek, Shanghai, Xiamen, Hong Kong, Haiphong, Ho Chi Minh City, Laem Chabang, Jakarta, Laem Chabang, Qinzhou, Haiphong, Xiamen, and back to Incheon.
