NYK and group member Yusen Logistics Co have jointly held their annual five-day training programme in Japan for 26 of their staff based at offices worldwide.
Thirteen overseas staff members were chosen from each company to attend the seminars along with two Japanese staff from each company’s headquarters in Tokyo.
"The programme is held to foster a sense of solidarity among the participants by promoting mutual understanding across national, company and divisional boundaries," said a company statement.
"NYK began conducting this programme in 2002, and since 2012 it has been jointly organised by NYK and YLK, aiming to further strengthen linkages and business networks within the group."
This year’s programme was held under the theme of "NYK group branding." Lectures were given on the group’s new medium-term management plan and the need for a branded business to be founded upon the basic principles of law and compliance.
The participants exchanged opinions and worked in various groups designed to deepen their understanding of the business and the parent company's initiatives.
