Ship underway with drunken master
Coming from Varberg with the "Scot Trader", the master of the vessel was found to heavily intoxicated when approaching Gothenburg to bunker fuel on Sep 28, 2014.
Several other ships had spotted the ship which sometimes was on the wrong side of the fairway.
When the ship anchored around 8 p.m., the Swedish Coast Guard was able to seize the Estonian master on suspicion of drinking at the helm.
A blood sample showed 0.97 mg/l alcohol which meant an alcohol kevel of 1.94 per thousand. The captain was later arrested by prosecutors. The ship remained in Gothenburg since.
