Wan Hai profits up 16pc to US$68.9 million despite 5pc revenue fall
TAIWAN's Wan Hai Lines has posted 16 per cent year-on-year profit increase to TW$2.1 billion (US$68.9 million) drawn on revenues of TW$59.7 billion, down five per cent.
Taken with other unspecified non-operating income, the intra-Asian carrier also reported TW$792 million in helping to boost comprehensive income attributable to the company's owners to TW2.7 billion, up 68 per cent year on year.
Wan Hai, one of the most profitable containership operators, has seen its earnings eroded by cascading tonnage from the longhaul trades into the intra-Asia market.
