MHI To License Shipbuilding Technology To L&T

The Mumbai-based Larsen & Toubro Ltd. said Japan-based Mitsubishi Heavy Industries Ltd., or MHI, had agreed with L&T Shipbuilding Ltd., or LTSB, the shipbuilding arm of the company, to provide a broad range of technological support for building commercial vessels. The two companies will sign a technical collaboration agreement in this regard on Wednesday.

Malaysia: Boustead Naval Wins USD 2.8 Billion Shipbuilding Deal

Boustead Naval Shipyard is going to build and deliver six
naval vessels developed by French manufacturer DCNS in a shipbuilding
contract estimated to be worth RM9 billion (USD 2.8 billion). Malaysian
defence ministry awarded Boustead Naval Shipyard with the contract for
six second generation Gowind OPV/corvettes.

USA: Jensen Maritime Starts Design Work on Two 50 Ton Bollard Pull ASD Tugboats

started the design of two 92-foot, 50-ton-bollard-pull Azimuth Stern

STX France Secures Order for Two Luxury Cruise Ships

STX France SA has received an order to build two luxury
cruise ships from Viking Ocean Cruises, an affiliate of Viking River
Cruises. The vessels will be delivered in spring 2014 and spring 2015,
respectively, and will be part of Viking’s new Ocean Cruise brand. An
option for a third ship is being considered.
