TIANJIN Port Logistics Development Co Ltd, a subsidiary of Tianjin Port Group, has signed letter of cooperation intent with German freight forwarder DB Schenker, according to which the forwarder will provide trucking from Tianjin's bonded logistics park to the harbour, Xinhua reports.

Schenker has completed moving the first batch of cargo under the agreement, which were containerised products of US heavy equipment manufacturer Caterpillar.

Schenker's cargo transportation volume is expected to reach 1,500 to 2,000 TEU by the end of this year, said the report.

Tianjin is the largest port in northern China. It recorded a throughput of 450 million tonnes last year, ranking it fourth in the world.
