Luzhou port volume falls 5pc in first quarter to 5.33 million tonnes

LUZHOU, a river port in the southeast of Sichuan province, recorded a year-on-year decrease of five per cent in cargo to 5.33 million tonnes, Xinhua reports.

LUZHOU, a river port in the southeast of Sichuan province, recorded a year-on-year decrease of five per cent in cargo to 5.33 million tonnes, Xinhua reports.

But the port's container throughput increased 19 per cent to 22,375 TEU. Coal plunged 51 per cent to 651,400 tonnes. Crude oil fell 28 per cent to 135,200 tonnes. Construction material grew 13 per cent to 4.07 million tonnes.
