The Ecology and Urban Planning Ministry of Turkey has allowed the construction of a new container port in the area of a leading petrochemical complex Petkim, according to a MENA report.

Petkim has been granted a permit following a positive assessment of the project's impact on the environment.

According to Rovnag Abdullayev, the head of the State Oil Company of Azerbaijan (SOCAR) that owns a major share in Petkim, the work of building the new port is scheduled to start soon.

Specially, negotiations with leading global firms specialised in this field are nearing completion. Construction of the new port is aimed to meet the needs of the Turkish domestic market. Source: Port News
