Russia: FSUE Rosmorport Signs MoU with Cargotec

On the Russian part the Memorandum was signed by the head of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrischev, on the part of Finland – by Cargotec JSC executive president and chairman of the board of directors Mikael MĂ€kinen.

On 25th of October a signing of Memorandum of Understanding between FSUE “Rosmorport” and Cargotec JSC took place. The Memo was signed in presence of co-chairmen of intergovernmental economic cooperation committee – Sergey Ivanov, deputy Chairman of the Government of the Russian Federation and Alexander Stubb, Minister for European Affairs and Foreign Trade of Finland.

On the Russian part the Memorandum was signed by the head of FSUE “Rosmorport” Andrey Lavrischev, on the part of Finland – by Cargotec JSC executive president and chairman of the board of directors Mikael MĂ€kinen.

“Signing of the Memorandum shows that Russia is interested in cooperation with Finnish companies connected with upgrading of equipment in sea ports. According to the Strategy of Russian Ports Marine Infrastructure Development, by the year 2030 we plan to double seaport capacities. That’s why collaboration with Finnish companies is an important step in the sphere development” – emphasized Andrey Lavrischev during the official part.

Both parts consider the signing of the Memo to promote the development of transport and logistic cooperation between Russia and Finland, which can contribute to formation of anchored and effective Euro-Asian transport passage, including Northern Sea Route.

The signing is coincided with Finland Business Days in Russia and co-chairmen of intergovernmental economic cooperation committee meeting.
