Port of Ilychevsk container terminal

Aggregate container trade at seaports of Ukraine in January 2011 increased by 22.9% compared with same period in 2010, to 50,613 TEUs, the country’s Ministry of Infrastructure said citing Ukrmorrichflot report.

Port of Odessa container traffic surged by 43% to 28,313 TEUs, Illichevsk port handled 21,533 TEUs (+0,2%). Port of Mariupol that did not handle containers during last year’s January transshipped only 705 TEUs.
There are 18 commercial seaports in Ukraine, all of them are state-owned enterprises. Total container throughput of Illichivsk, Odessa and Mariupol ports in 2010 grew by almost 27% to 659.6 thousand TEUs.
