Two Iranian warships docked on Saturday at a Syrian port, the Iran’s Press TV reported. The vessels – a destroyer and a supply ship – are to provide maritime training to Syria’s navy under an agreement between the two countries, according to the report.

The warships reached the Syrian city of Tartus, north west of the capital Damascus, after crossing the Suez Canal into the Mediterranean Sea. The crossing was the second in a year by Iranian warships, Iran‘s navy chief said.
