Rental Power: Turkish ship conducts test

Turkish Rental Power Company, Karkey Karadeniz Elektrik Uretim AS conducted its six monthly operational tests in Karachi port recently by its two power ships Karadeniz Powership Kaya Bey and Karadeniz Powership Ali Can Bey anchored at Korangi.

Turkish Rental Power Company, Karkey Karadeniz Elektrik Uretim AS conducted its six monthly operational tests in Karachi port recently by its two power ships Karadeniz Powership Kaya Bey and Karadeniz Powership Ali Can Bey anchored at Korangi.

It was the first operational test after the company achieved commercial operations in April. The test was supervised by officials of Lakhra Power Generation Company Limited, National Transmission and Despatch Company and Karachi Electric Supply Company to analyse performance of power generating engines. The facility successfully generated 239MW of electricity during the test. The company had entered into a contractual agreement with Lakhra Power Generation Company to provide 231.8MW electricity. Total power generating capacity of plant installed on Karkey Powerships is 330MW.
