October 12, 2011: The 2011 cruise shipping season in Kiel ended today
with a visit by the âAIDAcaraâ. The port was visited 120 times this year
by nineteen different ocean-going luxury liners.
Carnival Corporation & plc today announced it has reached agreements for the construction of three new cruise ships â one 132,500-ton vessel for its Costa Cruises brand and two 125,000-ton ships for its AIDA Cruises brand.
The vessel, which on its debut in 1996 was the biggest and boldest cruise ship the industry had ever seen, has since been surpassed in size and in style, but a reported upcoming makeover may well return it to prominence.

August starting with a Costa Classica four day cruise departing from
Shanghai on August 26 and calling at Fukuoka on August 28.
