SARJAK Container Lines, a major Indian over-dimension cargo solutions provider, demonstrated its strength and understanding of outsize consignments in a recent heavylift operation, said the company statement.
Sarjak moved the coal-ash handling equipment for its client, manufacturer Thyssenkrupp Industries India, from its Pune and Hyderabad plants, for its client, Alstom, which had been awarded 1,000 megawatt super-critical coal-fired Tanjung Bin Power Project in Malaysia.
Sarjak’s servicing, loading, transport and supervisory team, headed by senior managers, worked in close co-ordination with the Thyssenkrupp Team to facilitate smooth movement from site of origin, to the container freight station to the port of loading in Chennai and then onto the port of discharge, Tanjung Pelapas.
The project commenced in the month of May 2013 and ended in July 2014. We handled a total of 301 containers in 2013 and 458 containers in 2014.
"Cargo of these dimensions would normally get loaded on a break bulk vessel, but Sarjak with its global expertise and its own fleet of special equipment managed to load it on a containership," said a company statement.
