Salvage of Gunay-2 Unsuccessfull Today... Wednesday, 21.Jan.2009, 19:35 (GMT2) The attempts of disengagement and towing of the Turkish cargo liner, Gunay 2, failed off Marseilles with on its board 3000 tons of corn, were always in progress Wednesday afternoon, according to the police port authority united by LCI.fr. Two tug boats, Carangue, chartered by the National marine, and Provence, chartered by the Boluda civil society, like two high-speed motorboats of the sailor-firemen of Marseilles and the SNSM, were mobilized. But this rescue is made difficult by the weather conditions, the zone being in prey with a strong swell. No noted pollution Until now, no pollution and no discharge of the cargo were noted. Six sailors were hélitreuillés by a helicopter of the National marine. The captain and three other members of the crew remained on board to help with the operations of disengagement of the boat.
