TAIWAN's flag carrier Evergreen Line has announced it will join Japan's largest carrier, MOL, to launch a new Asia-US east coast service passing through Suez Canal from June 3.

Ten ships of 4,500-5,600 TEU will be deployed in this new Asia-US east coast string (AUE3), of which Evergreen will offer one vessel and MOL the rest. Evergreen said the new AUE3 loop will add more direct calls, including Cai Mep, Singapore and Jacksonville at Florida, to complement its existing service on this trade.

The first sailing is scheduled on June 3 from Hong Kong. The port rotation for the 70-day voyage includes Hong Kong, Shenzhen-Yantian, Singapore, Suez Canal, Algeciras, Norfolk, Savannah, Jacksonville, Charleston, and back to Algeciras, Suez Canal, Singapore, Cai Mep and Hong Kong.
