year on year, and increased three per cent in the last quarter of 2011,
the carrier announced.

In the last quarter, NYK throughput hit 1.6 million TEU, and in December
came to 540,000 TEU. From April through December - fiscal year to date -
eastbound transpacific volume was flat year on year at five million
TEU.
Westbound on the Asia-Europe route, volume was flat at 1.2 million TEU
in last quarter of 2011, but up three per cent to 380,000 TEU in
December. Fiscal year to date, westbound Asia-Europe volume was up one
per cent to 3.9 million TEU.
