Danelec Marine Names New Distributor in Turkey
YDDO Maritime & Consulting Co. (YDDO) has been appointed by Danelec Marine as a distributor in Turkey.
YDDO will provide sales, installation and service of Danelec Voyage Data Recorders (VDRs), Simplified Voyage Data Recorders (S-VDRs) and Electronic Chart Display and Information Systems (ECDIS) in Turkish ports and shipyards, and will conduct VDR annual performance tests. The company will also establish a Certified Service Center for Danelec Marine with extensive stock of products and spares in Turkey.
Established in 2006, YDDO has its central office in Istanbul and branches in Çanakkale and Izmir, with a total of 18 employees. The company represents other major brands of marine electronics, and also has developed specialized software packages for ship management, ship broking, vessel performance and crew time management.
“With its geographic location facing the Black Sea, Aegean Sea, Sea of Marmara and Mediterranean Sea, Turkey is an important maritime center, with a thriving shipping community, large merchant fleet, major port and terminal facilities and growing shipbuilding industry,” said Hans Ottosen, CEO of Danelec Marine. “We are seeing growing demand in Turkey for our products and service, and our partnership with YDDO will greatly strengthen our service capability in this important market.”
Danelec is taking major steps to expand and strengthen its global service capability, adding new Certified Service Centers and distributor locations with factory-trained service technicians around the world. The company also recently introduced eSERVICEConnect, an Internet cloud-based solution designed to automate many of the traditional manual processes involved in shipboard equipment service.
“Our goal is to be the world’s most efficient marine electronics manufacturing company when it comes to shipboard service, and we’re taking steps to bring unprecedented levels of quality, consistency and efficiency to the service side of the business,” said Ottosen.
