Product tanker PAROS WIND collided with bulk carrier CS JADEN at around 2330 LT Aug 31 in Black sea while approaching Bosphorus, some 8 nm north of northern entrance.
Both vessels were taken to Kumkoy road and anchored. Extent of damages unknown.
Bulk carrier CS JADEN was en route to Port Said, loaded with wheat. Tanker M/T PAROS WIND loaded with fuel oil was en route from Tuapse, destination unknown.
Turkish Coastal Safety Administration made a statement at their web site saying that upon receiving the information from collided vessels fast rescue boat KIYI EMNİYETI 1 and tugboats KURTARMA 3 and KURTARMA 10 were immediately sent to the accident site. As there were no big damage at both vessels and no requast received from both vessels for assistance the rescue boat and the tugboats returned to their bases.
The collision is under investigation by the Harbour Master of Istanbul.
