Irish Coast Guard to Get Two New Vessels

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has confirmed that approximately €4.4m in funding will be allocated to the service including an annual grant of €150,000 to the RNLI.

Irish Coast Guard’s fleet will welcome two new vessels in the following two years.

Transport Minister Leo Varadkar has confirmed that approximately €4.4m in funding will be allocated to the service including an annual grant of €150,000 to the RNLI.

The Coast Guard was engaged in almost 2,000 incidents during the year. As a result, 163 lives were saved and more than 3,300 people received assistance. Its helicopters recorded 551 successful missions during the year.
