China: Sea Consortium Orders Eight Containerships from STX Dalian

STX Group announced on Monday that its subsidiary STX Dalian Shipbuilding has secured an order to build eight 2,000 teu containerships for Sea Consortium (Seacon).

STX Group announced on Monday that its subsidiary STX Dalian Shipbuilding has secured an order to build eight 2,000 teu containerships for Sea Consortium (Seacon).
 
The $240m contract will see the first containership delivered from the Dalian yard in China from April 2013.
 
STX Group said the Dalian shipyard sits on an order backlog of S$3.34bn and is expected to build more than 30 vessels this year.
