Samho Jewelry Sailors Arrive in Korea
The seven remaining Korean crewmen that were rescued recently
aboard the hijacked Samho Jewelry cargo ship arrived back home this
morning.
The sailors who were rescued from the hands of Somali pirates a little
over a week ago arrived at Busan's Gimhae International Airport at
around 8:50 A.M. Korea time just in time for the start of the Lunar New
Year holiday.
After meeting with their families the men headed to the Korea Coast
Guard South Regional Headquarters to be questioned as witnesses to the
hijacking.
Meanwhile, there have been reports that a non-Korean crew member of the
Samho Jewelry witnessed Captain Seok Hae-Kyun being shot by one of the
five pirates, who were captured alive during the rescue operation and
brought back to Korea to face legal proceedings.
