THE HAGUE (A.A) - Turkish Ambassador in The Hague UgurDogan has said that the 400th anniversary of Turkey-Netherlands relations wouldbe celebrated with a series of events next year.Dogan partook in a fast-breaking hosted by the Dutch Religious Foundationand the Al-Aqsa Mosque in The Hague to mark Muslim people's holy month ofRamadan."Dutch authorities are aware of Turkey's and Turkish people's importance. Idid not hear any single negative word from Dutch authorities about Turkish peopleliving in this country. They know that Turkish community have made valuablecontributions to Dutch society,"he said."Turkish people came to the Netherlands 50 years ago. But Turkey-Netherlandsrelations have a history of 400 years. We will celebrate the 400th anniversary ofour bilateral relations with a series of events in 2012,"the Ambassador added.(UK-MS)

TURKEY-IRAQ-Turkey condemns bomb attacks in Iraq

ANKARA (A.A) - Turkey has condemned attacks in severalIraqi cities which killed 66 people and wounded 230 others.In a statement, Turkish Ministry of Foreign Affairs offered condolences tothose who lost their relatives in the attacks."We condemn those heinous attacks aiming at obstructing efforts to ensurestability in Iraq. We believe that Iraqi people will act with common-sense andwill not allow those who are trying to instigate instability in the country,"itsaid.The Ministry extended Turkey's support to Iraqi people in their efforts toensure permanent security and stability in their country.Bombings and attacks hit more than a dozen Iraqi cities on Monday, killing66 people and injuring 230 others. Suicide bombings and other explosions strucktargets from the northern city of Kirkuk, to the capital, Baghdad, to thesouthern city of Kut. The worst violence was in Kut, where two explosions killedat least 37 people and wounded more than 60 others.(UK-MS)

ISTANBUL (A.A) - Chief Rabbi of Turkish Jews, Isak Haleva,said Monday that no matter how different their religion, beliefs and traditionswere, their desires and prayers were the"same as others for this country,homeland and nation".A fast-breaking dinner was held at the Neve Shalom Synagogue in Istanbul onMonday.The dinner was attended by many dignitaries including Istanbul GovernorHuseyin Avni Mutlu and Mayor Kadir Topbas.Speaking at the dinner, Isak Haleva said that the"scene at the Neve ShalomSynagogue on Monday was a proof that there was room for all religions, beliefs,races, colors, languages and thoughts on this soil".I hope that the month of Ramadan would be a beneficial one for Turkey andthe rest of the world, Haleva also said.(SOL-MS)
