(ECO) TURKEY, IRAQ TO REVISE KIRKUK-YUMURTALIK OIL PIPELINE DEAL

ADANA (A.A) - Turkey and Iraq will revise the agreement onKirkuk-Yumurtalik crude oil pipeline which connects the northern Iraqi city ofKirkuk to the Turkish Mediterranean port of Ceyhan, Turkey's energy minister saidon Sunday.An earlier agreement had expired in March.Turkish Energy Minister Taner Yildiz said that a new contract on financingand oil flow had been drafted and that it was planned to be signed in Baghdad onSeptember 19.Under the new deal, the pipeline will carry 70 million tons of crude oilannually from Iraq to Ceyhan, an energy hub in southern Turkey."Iraq must export its oil and natural gas for country's normalization. Thisis a project that could help its normalization,"Yildiz said.(TÇ-CE)
